The reality of working from home

Despite what many people believe when it comes to working from home, it's just the same as working outside of your home if not more difficult.

Not only do you still have to deal with customers, co-workers or colleagues, but you also have to manage your home life and your time.

It is so tempting to sit around all day and watch TV or surf social media sites.  I also find that I have this constant feeling that you could be doing something around the house like organizing or cleaning something.  When in reality I need to be getting some work done!

The cool thing about being an entrepreneur is having luxury of setting your own hours.  Especially with my Independent Home Agent Job.  I set my availability for the week with my clients and they count on me to be available during those set times to take calls from their customers.  If I'm not available during those times, I run the risk of loosing my contract with my client.

It's one thing to set your schedule and it's another thing to work your schedule.  Just like with any job, there are times when I don't feel like getting up and sitting at my computer to take calls.  I'd rather act like I'm busy by posting positive quotes on Facebook and Instagram!  But that's where being a good steward over the things you've been blessed with comes in.

My husband always laughs at me because he knows how excited I was when I became a home agent and got my first cooperate client.  I just couldn't believe that I would be able to make a steady income and get paid every two weeks via direct deposit from home!

Now I look at my husband and I'm like, "Okay... I'll be back in a few hours.  I've got to go deal with these customers."  And I'm not saying it with a smile on my face.  I really appreciate how my husband reminds me of how blessed I am and how happy I was I got the position.

Even with my AVON Business...  It's amazing how you can wake up one day and your dreams have actually become your reality.

I used to hope and wish that I would be able to get online sales from customers via my online store.  I used to have visions of me checking my e-mail and having customers orders in my inbox on a regular basis.  And now those hopes, dreams and visions have come into fruition.

Just today I opened my e-mail and had two Avon orders waiting for me.  It's so funny how much more exciting the dream is compared to the reality.

The reality is, it's all work.  Picking up the phone to verify customer orders is work.  It's work to deal with any issues customers may have with products of services.  It's work to input customer orders and it's work to deliver those items and then to follow up!

On another note...

I remember how I used to spend so much time TRYING to get people to respond to my online advertising for some of my affiliate accounts and lately I have been having people contact ME asking about what I have to offer.  What a blessing!

And again... It is WORK to actually help the people that contact me get set up with their opportunity and to coach them as they work their opportunity so that they achieve the results they are looking to achieve.

What have I been doing to get this type of response?

Taking God at his word... He says...

New Living Translation (Matthew 6:33)
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

So many things have been coming to me lately.  All I have to do is be a good steward of those things that he puts into my hands.

The moral of the story is, working from home is WORKING from home.  There's nothing all magical or amazing about it except for the fact that you can work in your house shoes and pajamas with your hair a mess and no makeup.

Other than that, if you've got work to do, you've got to get it done or you too will be at home with no work.  Because you won't have any clients or customers if you're not doing what you've got to do to keep them.

Always wishing you Love, Peace, Prosperity and Many Blessings~

  1. I made $20 for each 20 minute survey!

Guess what? This is exactly what major companies are paying for. They need to know what their average customer needs and wants. So large companies pay millions of dollars per month to the average person. In return, the average person, like me, answers some questions and gives them their opinion.
