We are done with chicken nuggets!

My daughter has decided that the chicken nuggets she ate today would be her very last.  And I'm all for it!

The family and I decided to pay a trip to Wendy's today for lunch.  I love their chive potatoes and chili.  My daughter got the spicy chicken nuggets and fries and my hubby got his usual burger and fries.

As we were eating our meals my daughter was telling me about the chicken nuggets she had been given last year when she was in public school.  Which she hated by the way, she begged me to homeschool her this year like she has been since Kindergarden and I agreed.  As most of you already know.  :)

She said that when when she bit into the nuggets at school the meat was pink.  She said it was so gross that she wouldn't eat it.  She would eat everything else on the plate except the chicken nuggets and tell the teachers that she was finished.

She asked me what that pink stuff was.  And immediately I thought about the picture below that has been circulating on the internet for a long while now....

I'm sure most of you have seen it.  I was grossed out by it when I saw it.  It's the mechanically separated meat that has been chemically treated with chlorine and is supposed to be safe for human consumption.

I told her that I really didn't want to talk about it while we were eating, but we could research it together once we were done eating.

Before I could even get to my laptop after we were done my daughter had already googled "what is the pink stuff in the chicken nuggets at school" and had the pictures and videos pulled up on her desktop.

We started watching all kinds of videos about the chemicals in our food and needless to say, we were both grossed out and very concerned about our health.

Below are the videos we watch in order.  Brace yourself people.  Pretty gross....

Welp.  I'm sure you're pretty concerned yourself after watching these videos.  There are many more videos like this all over youtube if you want to do some more research yourself.

I have decided to make it my mission to make wise decisions when it comes to food for me and my family.  I will be going to Trader Joe's this week to do some shopping and will be making lot's of changes to our diets.  I'll be sure to share the journey with you all.

As always... Wishing you Love, Peace, Prosperity and Many Blessings!

What does the bible have to say about OVEREATING - Plus a prayer to overcome!

I am a woman who likes food.  I've been known you say (many times), "I love food."  I like to cook, but one of the reasons I believe I like to cook is because I like to eat!

I had to share todays devotional from bibleresources.org because it is all about food and it sheds some light on what God has to say about overindulging in all of the wonderful food he had blessed us with to eat.

If you are like me and are struggling with overeating this will speak to you as it did me.

Enjoy~

Always wishing you Love, Peace, Prosperity and Many Blessings...

God's Wisdom for Daily Living

Devotional Scripture

Proverbs 25:16 (KJV):
16 Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it.

Proverbs 25:16 (AMP):
16 Have you found (pleasure sweet like) honey? Eat only as much as is sufficient for you, lest being filled with it, you vomit it.

Thought for the Day

God desires that we enjoy the good things that He created for us to eat (Psalm 103:5), but we need to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit's guidance in all our ways, including eating. Honey and sweet things ought to be taken in moderation, lest overindulgence make us ill. The Bible teaches moderation and temperance in all things (Galatians 5:22-23). Overindulgence opens the door to gluttony, which has become one of the most widespread sins in Western culture and America. Food is the god of millions. Obesity is now a common problem. To maintain God's blessings, we must obey His Word regarding both spiritual and physical matters. "Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand" (Philippians 4:5).
The world has set the standard when it comes to eating, rather than the Word of God. Here is another area where we need to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit's guidance. First, we need to make sure that we are receiving proper spiritual food; however, the Lord is also emphasizing to His people that they need to make changes in their physical diets and receive the proper natural foods. Most of God's people have experienced His healing in their bodies, but one problem that seems to be prevalent is that after receiving healing, the devil comes back to rob them of God's gift of healing. However, if we exercise our faith and rebuke the enemy in the name of Jesus, he will flee. If you have done this and are still experiencing illness, perhaps the problem is one of maintaining the gift God has given you. By this I mean we must not only obey and keep spiritual laws, but also we must keep physical laws if we expect to walk in God's blessings.
Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. We are each a caretaker of our body, but many of us do not honor the God of glory who lives within us. Rather than keep His temple in good shape, we neglect it and fill it with garbage foods. We ought to assess our eating habits to bring them in line with Biblical guidelines. Many are tired and sick because a large part of their diet consists of highly-refined, nutritionally-dead foods. A good rule is to eat the "living foods" God created: fresh vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts, legumes and dairy. God's guidelines for meats are given inLeviticus 11. In ourselves, we may not be able to overcome old eating habits, but through prayer and with His help, we can (Philippians 4:13). If we seek God on this important subject, He will direct us to a solution. Ultimately, it is faith and obedience to God that gives us victory.
While it is good to emphasize proper eating and physical exercise, we must beware of extremes. Our spiritual health should always be given top priority, since it determines the quality of our lives on earth and in eternity (1 Timothy 4:8). Many people have become unbalanced by putting too much emphasis on the physical man, while neglecting the spiritual man. We must not neglect our physical health, but we should avoid becoming overly concerned about it and allowing it to absorb too much of our time. God desires that we learn self-discipline and temperance in all things. I appreciate a book that I read years ago on dieting: More of Jesus, Less of Me. Submitting to Christ's Lordship is the key to a proper balance between the care of our spiritual man and physical bodies. We should make Jesus "Lord of the Fork."

Prayer Devotional for the Day

Dear heavenly Father, I am thankful for all of the good foods that You created for our pleasure. They have been a blessing and I have enjoyed them. Lord, help me not to over-indulge and put too much emphasis on food. Give me a desire to eat things that are good for me and deliver me from those things that are not healthy for me. Since You created our bodies, I trust Your wisdom to know what things are best for me to eat. Forgive me for any lust for food, and may I eat those things that will cause me to have a healthy body so that I can serve You without illness and lack of energy. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Never again will I confess anything against the Word of God~

As Christians, we should never again confess any of the things that are against God’s Word. Let me share with you “My Never Again List” taken from Don Gossett’s book, What You Say Is What You Get.

 “My Never Again List”

  • Never again will I confess “I can’t” for “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13)
  • Never again will I confess lack, for “My God shall supply all of my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)
  • Never again will I confess fear, for “God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)
  • Never again will I confess doubt and lack of faith, for “God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” (Romans 12:3)
  • Never again will I confess weakness, for “The Lord is the strength of my life.” (Psalm 27:1) “The people that know their God shall be strong and do exploits.” (Daniel 11:32)
  • Never again will I confess supremacy of Satan over my life, for “Greater is He that is within me than he that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)
  • Never again will I confess defeat, for “God always causeth me to triumph in Christ Jesus.” (2 Corinthians 2:14)
  • Never again will I confess lack of wisdom, for “Christ Jesus is made unto me wisdom from God.” (1 Corinthians 1:30)
  • Never again will I confess sickness, for “With His stripes I am healed” (Isaiah 53:5). Jesus “Himself took my infirmities and bare my sickness.” (Matthew 8:17)
  • Never again will I confess worries and frustrations, for I am “Casting all my cares upon Him, who careth for me.” (1 Peter 5:7) In Christ I am “care-free.”
  • Never again will I confess bondage, for “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” (2 Corinthians 3:17)
  • Never again will I confess condemnation, for “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1) I am in Christ; therefore, I am free from condemnation.
  • Never again will I confess loneliness, Jesus said, “Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” (Matthew 28:20) “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” (Hebrews 13:5)
  • Never again will I confess curses or bad luck, for “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us…that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” (Galatians 3:13-14)
  • Never again will I confess discontent because “I have learned, in whatsoever state (circumstances) I am, therewith to be content.” (Philippians 4:11)
  • Never again will I confess unworthiness because “He hath made Him to be sin for us who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Full Friday and Still Going~~~

After being up until after 4:00am this morning (on Twitter!) and waking up early to take calls from clients from 8:30am to 10:00am I was in great need of a cup of coffee!

As I was drinking my coffee, my daughter came to me while I was at my desk and gave me the most wonderful present!  She made me a necklace and a cute little jewelry box to put it in.  That really perked me up.  Her sweetness was better than the strongest cup of coffee!

Right after I was off of the phones it was on to getting Lyrical started on her social studies lesson while I started working on lunch, that will also serve as dinner!  :)

(CHICKEN AND CABBAGE GREENS OVER RICE)
It was yummy, yummy in our tummy!

I went out last night to one of my favorite places as you all know, the 99cent Only Store! I had to pick up some new notebooks for Lyrical's lessons.

She was very happy with the selection.

I'm writing this blog post as we take a break from Lyrical's lesson.  Then it's back to Mrs. Mom!  :)

I hope you are all having a wonderful Friday and until next time...

Always wishing you Love, Peace, Prosperity and Many Blessings~

How To Make Your Avon Business A Success: 21 Tips

Are you interested in growing your Avon business? Becoming an Avon representative is super-easy and there are many resources to help you grow your business and meet your personal goals.

1. Use Avon products yourself.
One of the best ways to sell a product is to know everything about it. Your regular discount and demos allow you to save money and try the products yourself first.

2. Ask your customers for product reviews. When you pass out orders, ask your customer to let you know how the products perform. This is a great way for you to learn about products so that you can offer more information to other customers.

3. Share your products. If you work in an office, make sure you have hand lotion to share with your co-workers. I have gotten several orders just by letting others try the lotion sitting on my desk. Another Avon rep keeps extra tubes of hand cream for on-the-spot sales.

4. Educate yourself with training. Make the most of your business by taking Avon's online training courses. Every new representative should start here first as courses include everything from money management, to launching your business, to entering orders. Most of the classes are 30 minutes and have down loadable text sheets. You get a certificate after completion of each and special recognition for completing certain courses.

5. Become an erepresentative. Curious about becoming an erep? Customers can order online and have product shipped direct to their home. There is usually a free or discounted shipping code on the website. I tell my customers that if they don't see one, to let me know and I will get them one! Once you become an erep, you also have access to other customer management tools. You can set up an email marketing campaign to let customers know about new products or campaigns. My customers love the "little reminder" because they often include free or discount codes.

6. Use your network. Share your excitement about your new business and people will be excited with you. Most of your friends already are familiar with Avon products and so they will be your easiest customers. Everyone
is a member of some organization or workplace. You have an extended network of soccer moms, hairdressers, delivery people, doctor's office workers, etc.

7. Wear Avon jewelry. I get so many compliments when I wear a new Avon necklace. Most jewelry comes in sets, like a necklace and bracelet. They are designed to compliment fashion or seasonal colors. I have had a few tell me they were not sure if a necklace would match their outfit, but with the no-hassle return guarantee they were not afraid to return it if it did not. Oh, and I haven't had any jewelry returns, yet!

8. Invest in great-looking business cards. Make sure your business cards look professional, even if you buy from a discount supplier. Include a customer reward program on the reverse side. I have mine printed with a "buy in five campaigns, get 20% off your sixth campaign order" coupon on the back.

9. Share your business cards. Leave one with the tip for your waiter, hang them in the community bulletin board area at the grocery store, give to the checkout clerk at the mall, etc.

10. Personalize your business cards. When I hand out my business cards, I write a free shipping code offer that is good on my website. I also mention the Avon Opportunity: do you want to earn extra money by becoming an Avon Representative?

11. Order plenty of brochures. Brochures are really your "store." They are designed well, colorful, and cheap. The photos are very clear and often show how the makeup looks on a real person. In every campaign brochure, Avon includes their famous scratch-and-sniff perfume circles.

12. Keep brochures handy. I keep the latest campaign brochure in my purse, as well as an outlet sale flier. I always preview the campaign brochure so I can target market: for example, I may say, have you seen the new Avon line of mineral makeup? There is a buy 1, get 1 half-price deal on page 32 for Smooth Mineral Makeup. Wow!

13. Buy stickers for the backs of brochures. My stickers match my business cards and large print makes them easy to read. Stickers include my name, phone number, email address, and website address. Brochures, stickers and business cards are powerful sales tools!

14. Don't forget special offers. Everyone loves a bargain! Use your imagination to come up with catchy ideas. How about free wrapping for Mother's Day? Birthday and anniversary reminders? BOGO - buy one get one?
Recommend a friend and get 10% off your next order? Print out Avon Bucks and include in their bag when you hand out orders.

15. Always upsell. This is a key sales tip that really works. Say your customer buys a certain fragrance; draw her attention to the lotion. Got an order for a necklace? Point out the ring on the same page. Did your customer choose a skincare product for aging skin? Make sure she knows about the eyelift cream.

16. Attend sales meetings. Your district manager or DM will hold sales meetings every few months where you will get an opportunity to meet other representatives, see and try new products, share your successes, and discuss sales techniques. These meetings are encouraging and fun make sure you attend.

17. Make samples and demos work for you. Attach a sample on the page of the newest brochure where the item is listed with a paper clip. Encourage your customers to try the product. Buy a demo and either use it yourself or give to a faithful customer to try.

18. Holiday and special days. Remind your customer that holidays and special occasions tend to sneak up on us, and you have great gifts for just about anyone.

19. Don't forget the male customer. We tend to forget about the guys - but they have daughters home from college, wives who love to great makeup, and mothers who love to be treated to a thinking-of-you-mom gift. Avon has some great products especially for men. Check out the after-shave conditioners and the foot care line. Don't forget about Bug Guard for camping, hunting, and working in the yard.

20. Use the no-hassle Return Policy to close the deal. Avon promises, "If you're not happy with any purchase, just return it for an exchange or your money back. No questions. No fuss. No problems." Even if the makeup is opened, if the customer is unhappy Avon will give a no-stress return. You will take back the item and use e-Z Returns for a credit. No-hassle for reps, too!

21. Grow your team. Be ready to share your success when someone asks about the Avon Opportunity. Some of your customers may tell you they are interested in earning extra money. Avon is so successful because of people like you and me who love the products and work on growing their business.

Focus on what attracted you to Avon and build strategies to communicate that to your customers. Were you already a customer who loved the skincare products? Your testimony can be a great asset to your business. Are you
excited about the earning potential? Share how you met a financial target. Avon offers training, great products, customer service, and a support network to help you meet your goals. Becoming an Avon representative is a personal growth opportunity that is also lots of fun!
